Message from Dom Raban, CEO and Co-founder of Xploro:

As the parent of a child who has had (and thankfully recovered from) cancer I know first-hand that going through cancer treatment is really, really tough at the best of times. I remember when my daughter was in treatment how careful we had to be to ensure that she remained infection-free. The last thing we needed was an unplanned trip to hospital because her weakened immune system had succumbed to some illness or another.

I can’t begin to imagine how much more difficult that is now, with greatly heightened fear of infection, little or no contact with support workers, restrictions on visitors whilst in hospital and an NHS pushed to breaking point as it struggles to fight the virus.

In normal times Xploro is only available via a healthcare organisation that has purchased an annual subscription. But these aren’t normal times. That’s why we’ve decided to make some changes to the way you sign up to Xploro and offer it for free to any family with a child currently going through cancer treatment. We’ve been supported in this by our friends at the charity Thinking of Oscar who have very generously subsidised the cost of doing this. To them – a massive thank you! And to you – I really hope Xploro plays some small part in helping you and your child feel less anxious about the difficult times that lie ahead.
