Expert Advisory Board

Xploro’s Expert Advisory Board is made up of an exceptional  group of youngsters who tell us exactly what they think of our app and share ideas for new features and games.

At the heart of Xploro are the children and young people that use it. That’s why, since 2018, our Expert Advisory Board has gathered three or four times a year to share feedback and ideas for new features, and help co-design content with the Xploro creative and technical development team.

Whether it be a new game concept, designing an emoji set, or simply telling us we’ve got it wrong, their input is central to the ongoing development of Xploro. We rely on them to do what kids do best: speak their minds.

Experts

Our Expert Advisors are aged between 7 and 16 years old and each has differing experience of healthcare environments. Some have never needed to go to hospital, some have been through extensive treatments and have since been given the all clear, whilst others are still undergoing therapy and medical interventions.

Diversity

Our board members are boys and girls of different ages who are from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. We don’t analyse responses based on these demographics, but we believe it’s important to the development of Xploro to have diversity at the core of our user experience research.

Everyone’s welcome. We have neurodivergent members, and members with a physical disability; some of the kids are very outgoing and outspoken whilst others prefer not to use the camera in meetings and instead communicate through Zoom’s chat feature. We think there’s real value in having input from many points of view and we do whatever we can to accommodate everyone.
